I'm a big fan of Disney movies. If you'd asked me what my favorite Disney movie was before Moana came out, I'd have said "Aristocats" or "Aladdin" but now, unquestionably, Moana has my top spot. This movie was the last movie I saw before the new year, and I can say that it was a great way to end 2016.
Moana is a sassy young Polynesian girl who, instead of being a princess, is the next chief of her people. Her island is dying, and to save it and her people she journeys to find the demi-god Maui, who caused all of this when he stole the goddess Tefiti's power.

This movie features an amazing soundtrack, and features one of my favorite contributors--Lin-Manuel Miranda. His lyrics made Moana come alive for me, and I have been listening to the soundtrack almost non-stop since it was released.
If you're looking for something to watch with good humor, great animation, and a brilliant cast, Moana is the movie for you. If you're not in it for any of those things, Moana is still the movie for you. Enjoy!
